In common indoor giant screen display occasions, such as stages, lecture halls, shopping malls, theaters, etc., P2 or P3 LED display screens are popular specifications. However, some customers are not very familiar with the specifications of LED display screens. When designing a plan, they don’t know whether to choose P2 or P3. Is there a big difference between the two?
In simple terms, the P2 LED display has a smaller pitch, so the picture is clearer, so it has a better visual experience, while the P3 model has a more competitive advantage in product price. So should we pursue display effect or product price? Let’s first understand the difference between the two.
1. The dot pitch of P2 is smaller than that of P3, and the picture is clearer
LED display models are usually named after their pixel pitch (P value). The smaller the P value, the higher the pixel density of the LED display, and the more delicate the picture display.
Since the pixel pitch of the P2 model LED display is 2mm, compared with the 3mm pixel pitch of the P3 model, the P2 has more pixels per unit area, so it can provide higher resolution and more delicate display effects. This high definition enables the P2 display to present richer details and more realistic visual effects when displaying fine images, playing high-definition videos, or performing precise graphic displays. Visually, there are some differences in the clarity of P3 and P2, especially in close-up viewing situations, but it has little effect at a longer viewing distance.
2. P2 point spacing has more application scenarios than P3
Since the P2 model LED display has higher clarity, it can adapt to more application scenarios. Whether it is an indoor conference room, exhibition hall, or commercial advertisement in a public event venue, P2 can provide a relatively clear visual experience, making its application range wider.
In contrast, the P3 model LED display has a much larger dot pitch, which is more suitable for applications with a longer viewing distance. The clarity when viewed at close range is not as good as that of P2, so there are fewer application scenarios.
3. The price of P3 dot pitch is cheaper than P2
In some occasions where P2 dot pitch can be used, P3 dot pitch can also be used. The price of P3 will be much cheaper. Of course, if the budget is sufficient, it is better to choose a smaller dot pitch.
In general, the P2 model of LED display screen has better advantages in dot pitch, clarity and wide application scenarios, which is better than P3. Although the P3 model may be more attractive in price, for users who pursue high-definition display effects and diversified application scenarios, the P2 LED display screen is undoubtedly a better choice.
